Reclaiming Your Voice: A Trauma-Informed Communication Recovery Course
Trauma can change the way you speak to other people. You can know exactly what you want to say and still lose the words when someone looks directly at you. You can understand a subject well and suddenly doubt yourself when someone questions you. These experiences do not mean you have lost your communication abilities. Trauma can affect the conditions under which those abilities are available to you.
This course helps you rebuild that ability gradually. It is not a public-speaking course, and it is not sales training. It is designed to help you become comfortable using your own voice again, in very small pieces, one skill at a time, across five parts and a closing review.
The goal is not to eliminate nervousness before you speak. The goal is to help you discover that you can speak while nervous, pause while speaking, think before answering, make mistakes, correct yourself, disagree, ask questions, and remain present during ordinary conversations. Confidence does not have to come before speaking. Confidence can be built by speaking.
Everything for victims is free and confidential. Move through the course at your own pace. You do not need to perform perfectly. You only need to participate.
