SCARS PUBLISHING ANNOUNCEMENT

We are very excited to announce our SCARS GREEN BOOK has just been published and is available now!

This is the SCARS Steps Program for Scam Victims!

It is a Self-Help Self-Paced Scam Victim Recovery Program Guide based upon 30 years of experience assisting scam victims.

This publication is to help Scam Victims recover from their scam experience – A Self-Help Self-Paced 8 Step Recovery Program From Scams & Online Fraud

It was created by SCARS Authors: Tim McGuinness Ph.D.,, Debby Montgomery Johnson, Vianey Gonzalez, Chris Fromal, Sharon Armstrong, Vismaya Rubin, Lydia Zagorova

DESIGNED FOR SCAM VICTIMS!

This program is designed to help scam victims struggling to recover on their own and for those who want to understand the overall process. You can be using other resources, such as trauma counseling or therapy, qualified support groups, or completely independent – on your own!

This is a complete program and is provided for that purpose. When working with outside support providers, some aspects may not be as needed but still useful, but when you are facing recovery on your own – which we know that many scam victims will do – it is essential to have a complete program that you can follow, even if you do not perform everything contained in it.

After the trauma of being scammed, you need to take steps to recover and move on. This may be an alternative to counseling in the short term, but we still encourage you to seek out professional help & support.

FAQ: How Do You Properly Report Scammers?

It is essential that law enforcement knows about scams & scammers, even though there is nothing (in most cases) that they can do.

Always report scams involving money lost or where you received money to:

  1. Local Police – ask them to take an “informational” police report – say you need it for your insurance – get a police report number
  2. U.S. State Police (if you live in the U.S.) – they will take the matter more seriously and provide you with more help than local police
  3. Your National Police or FBI www.IC3.gov & FTC www.FTC.gov/complaint
  4. The SCARS|CDN™ Cybercriminal Data Network – Worldwide Reporting Network on www.Anyscam.com

This helps your government understand the problem, and allows law enforcement to add scammers on watch lists worldwide. Your reports are essential even if the police cannot take action!

I was scammed out of $45,000 and in April 2019, I had to FBI agents at my door to make sure that I was not a money mule. They said that all of my money except $20,000 went overseas and they may be able to recoup that $20,000. The FBI told me I would hear from them when my case was closed and that it would take at least a year. Well, it’s been three years and I haven’t heard back from them. Is there any chance or way to try to get my money back. I have paperwork for all the transactions. Please advise
