Content Compliance Council – Founded 2005
A SCARS Sanctioned Body 2016
The Content Compliance Council™ is focused on quality issues in the Dating Industry, specifically on the issues of False Dating Profiles – whether created by the dating website or by external parties. C3 performs site audits to help websites and the public understand the scope and magnitude of the issues with False Profiles / False Persons in Online Dating. Now as sanctioned by SCARS C3 will focus on issuing audit and annual reports on the status of the dating industry’s effectiveness in eradicating False Persons in their databases, and the measures they are taking to improve. In the future the Content Compliance Council will also add Social Media to its focus, as that is where it was started by aiding MySpace in resolving content issues in the past.
Business Scams Countermeasures Group – Founded 2016
A SCARS Sanctioned Body 2016
The Business Scams Countermeasures Group is a working group within the Society focused on the overlapping issues of relationship fraud and the exponential growth of the BEC Scams. In fact the two are being increasingly used in concert, where the relationship scam is used to undermine the integrity of the business by targeting vulnerable individuals for the purpose of collecting information that can be used for Business Email Compromise fraud. While a favorite topic in Hollywood spy movies it is being employed in real life every day to defraud businesses of billions of dollars annually. This working group was established to both explore the methods and develop countermeasures that can be utilized by businesses to defend against such attacks.
